Who We Are
Educational wine tours in Alsace created and crafted for serious wine enthusiasts, guided by wine professionals.
We are not tourist guides. We are local wine professionals, wine educators and communicators who explore Grand Cru vineyards and Domaines to create vivid learning experiences. The wineries we visit share their exceptional wines with us and convey the love for their craft, winemaking philosophies, traditions and human stories.

Since learning is our main objective, we bring the wines closer to the vines for unique experiences.

A new wave of excitement about Pinot Noir has begun in Alsace. Unfortunately, this grape prefers the same soil as the highly regarded Gewurztraminer.
Only time will tell how vignerons will allow these two great wines to coexist. Read more on my blog.A new wave of excitement about Pinot Noir has begun in Alsace.

Why Alsace?
-

Strong Biodynamic Practices
The cool-moderate climate, along with dry, sunny autumn weather, is conducive to biodynamic vineyard practices. The region accounts for 12.8% of France’s certified biodynamic vineyards, even though Alsace represents less than 5% of the country’s surface under vines.
-

Lower Impact on the Environment
For me, small is better in the wine world. The average medium-sized Domaine holds a vineyard surface of approx. 15 hectares. Large enough to support a family, with smaller volumes on average to sell. Less incentive to push wine to consumers for the sake of consumption.
-

Family-Run Domaines
Domaines are run by the same family across many generations. Because of this, there is more connection with the history of the place and deeper cultural roots with the region. No big CEOs, CFOs, or shareholders to create budgets for, just good wines for us!

Closeness to the Wine Artisans
The owner of the Domaine leads the orchestra. They conduct the vineyard, play with the wine equipment, compose the wine songs, and sing the story of the wines to you. As a result, we can experience a closeness to the wine artists like in no other place.
